Does anyone have a recipe for a tick repellent dog spray?

I need a recipe for a tick repellent spray for dogs. I prefer natural products. I’ve been using Advantix on my dogs, and they still have ticks. We have the yard sprayed every month and still have ticks. I spend so much time going through their fur and checking their ears and toes, and they still have ticks. I shampoo them with a good flea and tick shampoo. These horrible parasites are so hard to get rid of and we have a long tick season here in Florida. Please, please something that works… Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to make an insect repellent using rubbing alcohol?
Is it possible if the insect repellent we will use to combine with the rubbing alcohol is lemon eucalyptus? Or there will be negative effects, because of the chemicals use in making the rubbing alcohol.

Why would can of Sawyer insect repellent explode?
A can of Sawyer Insect repellant just exploded in my garage scaring the heck out of me. It was not by any heat source and the garage is about 65 degrees right now. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
