Does anyone have a recipe for a tick repellent dog spray?
I need a recipe for a tick repellent spray for dogs. I prefer natural products. I’ve been using Advantix on my dogs, and they still have ticks. We have the yard sprayed every month and still have ticks. I spend so much time going through their fur and checking their ears and toes, and they still have ticks. I shampoo them with a good flea and tick shampoo. These horrible parasites are so hard to get rid of and we have a long tick season here in Florida. Please, please something that works… Thanks in advance.

1/2 Avon Skin so soft and 1/2 water, only works as long as you can smell it, but, it does work, keeps flies, fleas and other bugs off too.
A citrusil spray is also a good, natural alternative.

I Googled herbal tick repellent recipes and chose care2 http://www.care2.com/greenliving/tick-repellant.htm.They reccomended 2tablespoons vegetable or nut oil they say almond oil works well mixed with 10 to 25 drops Rose Geranium essential oil put only a few drops on the dogs collar. The 2nd best is American Pennyroyal essential oil also called tickweed .The tickweed oil has a caution with it.

FrontLine
We get Frontline once the trees leaf out. It keeps our dogs clear of problems for 3 months, I treat the yard with Grub-Ex. in Late May. It does the trick for us.
